Kuredu: Paradise Island in the Indian Ocean

From the 1st of December 2007 until the 30th of November 2008 we lived and worked on the paradise island Kuredu in the middle of the Indian Ocean.

Kuredu is one of the biggest of all the 80 tourist islands on the Maldives. Kuredu is located in the Lhaviyani Atoll. The island is approximately 1500 m long and 400 m wide and surrounded by a 3 km white sandy beach. In total there are 370 bungalows in different categories - from the basic Beach-Bungalow to beach villas with their own jacuzzi everyone find something suitable. There is also a wide range of activities available on Kuredu.

Kuredu Island is like a little jungle and has a very divers flora. The outer reef is not easy to reach because of the shallow reeftop and the strong current. The south is ideal for watersports and behind the lagoon snorklers and divers will find a protected inner reef. Around Kuredu there are many channels, two well preserved wrecks and many other wonderful diving spots.

On the map below are approximately 45 diving spots listed to which ProDivers on Kuredu is going to. The diving spots can be reached by Dhoni within 10 to 60 minutes.
